Can you give a more in-depth answer as to how AfterBar works?
Sure, as we've stated in the how it works tab, the main way AfterBar works is by helping breakdown alcohol molecules in your liver. When drinking alcohol, an enzyme in your liver called alcohol dehydrogenase helps break down the alcohol molecules into acetaldehyde, a toxic carcinogen that can cause DNA damage. Then, another natural enzyme in your liver, acetaldehyde dehydrogenase, works to break acetaldehyde down into acetate, a harmless molecule that can be excreted from the body by being broken down into CO2 and H2O. To summarize, alcohol and acetaldehyde are bad molecules for your body, and your body works to convert them into a harmless acetate molecule.
When drinking copious amounts of alcohol, these two enzymes become overworked and cannot convert alcohol to acetaldehyde and acetaldehyde to acetate fast enough. This results in an abundance of both alcohol and acetaldehyde in the body. The extra alcohol molecules make their way up to the brain, where they bind to GABA receptors and cause a chemical imbalance of GABA in the brain. This excess of GABA is what causes the headaches and brain fog that are associated with hangovers the following morning. This is a rather basic analysis of the overall process, and if you want more information there are papers linked below. That is the normal way your body breaks down alcohol.
Our product acts as a catalyst to help both alcohol dehydrogenase and acetaldehyde dehydrogenase work faster. AfterBar's ingredients help these enzymes turnover alcohol and acetaldehyde into acetate at a faster rate, allowing for less alcohol to migrate to the GABA receptors and helps reduce/eliminate hangover symptoms. Additionally, AfterBar's ingredients have been shown to be a GABA receptor agonist, which means it will bind to GABA preventing alcohol from binding and further reducing/eliminating hangover symptoms. Linked below are some more papers for further reading. To summarize this, AfterBar's ingredients work on two fronts to stop hangovers. It helps the bodies natural enzymes work faster to get rid of alcohol, and it stops alcohol from binding to the GABA receptor.

How does AfterBar work?
Check out our video on the "How it Works" tab. Basically, AfterBar uses a blend of molecules that work to make your liver work harder. They help speed up the body's naturally occurring enzymes to flush out excess alcohol. An example image is shown below.
